About Troop 544

Troop 544 is based out of Shady Grove United Methodist Church and has been a part of the Mechanicsville, VA community for almost 70 years!  

Membership in the troop is open to all youth, membership at Shady Grove UMC  (our chartered organization) is not required.

The Troop is here to provide a safe,  healthy,  fun and educational atmosphere is provided for youth from the 6th grade, thru age 18.

All scouts are encouraged to bring a friend and new scouts are welcome to join.   

Troop 544 has an all year program and new members are welcome to join at anytime.      

Meeting are usually held the first two Tuesdays of each month.   All meetings take place in the gymnasium at Shady Grove UMC from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.   

Troop Activities include overnight camping trips, service projects within the community, field trips to see local attractions,  camping adventures and of course  summer camp.
